Finding passion

There is a lot written and spoken about passion. How to find your true passion? Only passion makes your life meaningful? If you have not found yet, keep looking for it, searching for it. Don’t we think that passion is very much hyped and given unnecessary so much importance. Why is it so? When we see celebrities in sports, entertainment industry, Politics and in other fields we think that they must have followed their passion that is why they are on the top. We also want to be like them. We also want to be successful. But biggest problem comes along the way that we don’t know our passion.

Why do we struggle so much to find out our passion? Actually, people look for passion in activities. They try to find out in dancing, writing, playing guitar and so many other activities. However they don’t realize that passion is not about what activity you do, it is all about the under laying feelings which you feel in passion.

It is really good if your passion drives your economy. In most of the cases it is not, that is why people keep struggling to make a harmony in life.

First of all, break the myth that there can be only one activity in which you can find your passion. So stop trying to find your passion in activities and look deep down inside yourself what actually makes you happy. There can be multiple things which can make you happy. Ultimately, at the end, happiness matters, this is what everyone is looking for.

If you are a good software engineer and you don’t enjoy coding, but you feel great when you get applauded and praised for your work. So it means you might not be much interested in coding but when your work gets recognized you get motivated and feel satisfied. So if similar feelings you get in some other activities you will keep enjoying your life.

Your passion may be helping others, because when you help someone you find meaning in your life. Your passion may be trying new things, today you might be interested in managing a team but after few years down you might want to start some new business, and again after some years you might want to open your own non profitable organization.

Someone can have passion for life, since that person enjoys and gets surprised with each and every moment of life. That person enjoys a beautiful sunrise, a marvelous mountain, and a healing touch from her/his beloved.

Your passion can be teaching. However some people think that if a big deal of money and fame is not associated with you work then it can’t be a passion. They are wrong. Passion is what you decide for yourself, not decided by others, because it is related to your life, your internal peace and your values.

If you enjoy recognition, fame , limelight, awards, praise then make sure it should be the by-product of your passion, so that even when you don’t get these you must be fulfilled and contented.

Is there anything in your life which you do or want to do and it does not matter if somebody knows or doesn’t know about it, however still you enjoy doing that , that is your true passion, that defines you, that is real you.
